Overview
ShikshaLink runs free literacy centres for children who cannot afford private tuition. Students are taught subjects such as social science, general science, maths, computer basics, general knowledge, soft skills and languages, with extra time for children who need one-to-one help with their doubts.
The first centre opened in Palam, Delhi. A second Palam centre added digital literacy and basic IT courses. In June 2023 the project partnered with the Sabhapur Student Union to extend to Sabhapur village, and in July 2024 it began running free after-school classes in a government composite upper primary school in Badhaipura Nikat Koh, Nawabganj, Bareilly, alongside stationery, books and guidance for the students.
Classes are taught by volunteers; centres also host celebrations such as Republic Day, with stationery kits for the children.
